Tucked away at Broomhill Farm, on the fields leading out towards West Bay, you’ll find Grow Slow.

An alternative garden nursery, farm shop and café all rolled into one, with a relaxed, creative atmosphere that makes it a real treat to explore.

Here, you can sip your drink while browsing vintage crockery, wander among the garden plants, then sit back under the barn roof as the day drifts by.

From the outside, the rustic barn setting already invites you in. It feels part working farm, part hidden garden, with a dash of vintage thrown in for good measure.

The Pack Horse Café sits under the big barn roof, with seating both indoors and outdoors.

Even if the weather isn’t playing ball, you can still sit outside under cover, surrounded by plants, vintage pieces and gardenware.

Inside, the space feels cosier, warmed by wooden tables and quirky décor.

Everywhere you look, something is interesting.

One corner might be stacked with garden tools and reclaimed pots, while another is brightened with homewares or racks of vintage items.

Herbs, plants and seasonal greenery spill through the displays, giving the whole place a fresh, earthy feel.

The farm shop element means you can easily leave with a bunch of herbs for your windowsill, a vintage watering can or even a new treasure for the home.

The cafe, The Pack Horse, is known for its relaxed, friendly atmosphere and plates of proper, homemade food.

You’ll find hearty breakfasts, light lunches, sandwiches, toasties, soups, and—most importantly—cakes.

They’re the kind of cakes you spot at the counter and immediately make a mental note to save space for.

The “Plate of the Day” is always worth checking out on the blackboard if you like a surprise.

From poke bowls piled high with colour to Asparagus and Broadbean Risotto, there’s usually something new to tempt you back.

On weekends, the breakfasts come highly recommended—generous, filling and the best way to start a slow day in Dorset.

If you’re just after a coffee and something sweet, their homemade bakes pair perfectly.

Soft sponges and a good, strong brew.

What makes this spot even better is that it’s dog-friendly, so your four-legged pal can happily join you while you relax.

Families often pop in, too, and there’s usually plenty of parking.

The whole setup has a charm you won’t find in bigger town cafés.

Whether you come for the food, the plants or simply to slow down for a while, Grow Slow lives up to its name.

You’ll leave with a full belly, a smile, and maybe even a vintage pot under your arm.
