If you’re walking along Chesil Beach and fancy a bite, Quiddles Cafe is just the place.

Housed in a candy-pink building right by the sea wall, this beachside café is a favourite for locals and visitors. It’s casual, friendly, and filled with the sound of waves in the background.

Inside, Quiddles keeps things simple with a few cosy tables, but the real magic happens outside. Most people grab a seat on the terrace, wrap up in a blanket if it’s breezy, and watch the waves roll in.

You just can’t get enough of that view

Breakfast here is hearty and exactly what you’d want after a walk along the coast.

From bacon sandwiches and full fry-ups to vegetarian bubble and squeak, the plates are generous and satisfying.

Imagine tucking into a plate of eggs and bacon with the sea right in front of you, hard to beat.

As the day goes on, the menu leans towards the sea.

Regulars rave about the seafood chowder, which comes steaming hot and packed with flavour.

Scallops, calamari, and crab dishes are also top choices, cooked fresh and served with no fuss.

You might spot prawns, whitebait, and crusty bread making their way to another table, and instantly wish you’d ordered the same.

It’s not all savoury though. Quiddles is well known for its cakes, baked fresh and paired beautifully with a cappuccino.

Whether it’s a creamy slice of sponge or something rich and chocolatey, the sweet counter is hard to resist.

The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, helped by the cheerful staff who always seem to have time for a chat.

🐶 Dogs are just as welcome as people here. You’ll see plenty of happy pups stretched out under tables, tails wagging in the sea air.

On summer evenings, Quiddles sometimes hosts paella nights or live music, turning the terrace into a lively little gathering spot.

When the sun dips, the sky often lights up in shades of pink and orange, one of the best places in Portland to watch it.

Come for the breakfasts, stay for the seafood, and soak up the views all day long.

Quiddles Cafe is the sort of place that keeps you coming back, whether you’re walking the dog, catching up with friends, or simply craving a good coffee by the sea.

🌊 Open every day (Monday 9am–2pm, Tuesday to Sunday 9am–4pm). It can shut earlier if the weather turns, so it’s worth checking ahead and booking is a good idea. Parking is easy enough on the nearby streets.
