If you’re wandering through Wimborne and fancy a proper breakfast or a riverside lunch, you’ll want to know about The Riverside Cafe.

Tucked away on Mill Lane, this independent spot has earned itself a loyal following — and for good reason.

On sunny days, the outdoor tables are where you’ll want to be. Sitting by the River Allen, it feels like a little pocket of calm right in town.

The water drifts by, flowers spill from planters, and suddenly your toast and tea feel like part of a holiday.

Inside is inviting and unpretentious, with pretty bunting and cute, practical tables that offer the perfect setting for a catch-up with friends, good food, and a relaxed atmosphere.

Breakfast is the big draw here, with many people travelling just to enjoy it.

It’s served all day, and customers call it “the best in town,” and it’s easy to see why.

The full English is hearty, with sausages, bacon, eggs, beans, toast, and all the trimmings.

The sort of plate that keeps you going all day.

If you’re after something lighter, their toasties are a cracking choice.

Think sausage, cheese, and red onion chutney, grilled golden and oozing with flavour, paired with a side salad and a refreshing drink – you’ve got yourself a great lunchtime treat.

A BLT here isn’t just a BLT — it’s crunchy bread, crisp bacon, fresh tomato, and salad on the side.

A BLT done so well, you’ll be tempted to order another.

And of course, there’s cake, the ultimate comfort food!

The cake selection changes regularly, but expect classics like Victoria sponge, chocolate and orange, tiramisu cake, and other homemade bakes that look as good as they taste.

Dogs are welcome outside, which makes it a handy stop if you’re out with a four-legged friend. And while the indoor seating is cosy, the riverside tables really are the highlight.

Whether you’re starting your day with a fry-up, breaking for a sandwich, or just stopping for tea and cake, you’ll leave well fed and smiling.
