The owner of The Salt Pig enterprise, James, has worked in The Purbecks his entire working life. In 2010, after working on the Steeple Leaze farm for 14 years, he decided to set up The Salt Pig in the Saxon town of Wareham.
A few years later, in 2018, The Salt Pig Too opened its doors.
The meat used at the restaurants is sourced within 8 miles of the stores, and the fish is brought in fresh by local fishermen.
Today, James owns a number of other smaller Salt Pig locations, such as The Secret Salt Pig, found in Carey’s Secret Garden, The Sandy Salt Pig, located in Studland and more.
The cosy setting of The Salt Pig Too creates a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere.
Art covers the walls made by local artisans, and the wooden surroundings create a warm feeling.
The staff are very friendly when you arrive and are there to answer any questions or needs you may have.
What makes the restaurants special is the brilliant and delicious quality of the produce yet it’s all reasonably priced.
