Dorset is the perfect setting for a traditional British pub, with the pretty villages and countryside as the perfect backdrop for a sunny beer garden or a warm, cosy bar with a roaring fire.

The Saxon Arms is everything a great pub should be. It stands proudly with its beautiful thatched roof and flintstone exterior, pretty hanging baskets and welcoming, friendly staff.

It is well worth a visit to spend some time with friends and family and enjoy excellent food and drink.

The interior is warm and welcoming, with cosy corners to tuck into and ample space for larger groups.

Lots of light comes in through the window, giving the place a warm vibe, and in the winter, a traditional log burner burns to keep everyone warm and cosy.

The food on offer is reasonably priced for the high-quality meals made with locally sourced ingredients.

You’ll find a wide variety on offer, including traditional favourites such as pie, chips and peas to a more refined panfried seabass fillet with king prawns, caper and lemon butter served with buttered new potatoes (pictured below).

No matter what you order, you’ll love the great taste and excellent portion sizes.

Event nights are held at the pub, adding a bit of fun to Thursday nights. You’ll see the likes of Spanish night, Steak night and Seafood night, with lots of food and drink options to fit around the different themes.

Live music performances are sometimes held giving you some entertainment whilst you enjoy a drink.

Daily specials are available also so if you don’t fancy anything on the menu, you’ll find something on the specials board to get those taste buds going.

These change daily so they will be different to the board (above).
