Enjoying plant-based cuisine is becoming increasingly popular. Whilst many restaurants cater for vegans/plant-based eaters, a dedicated space to enjoy pure plant-based foods is few and far between.

However, they are becoming more popular due to many people changing their lifestyles and diet choices.

Needless to say, you don’t have to have quit meat to enjoy this natural kitchen.

Offering guests a nourishing dining experience that will blow you away with the mouthwatering flavours and relaxed atmosphere.

Nestled in Westbourne and close to Bournemouth town centre, you’ll find Dane and Port.

Owned by Isabel and Robin, they warmly welcome you to their restaurant to try a selection of Petisco-style dishes (small Portuguese dishes similar to tapas).

The restaurant has a natural and relaxed vibe, decorated in calming wood interior and earthy green tones.

The space is bright and airy during the day, whilst at night, the tone is chilled and romantic.

The food reflects the owner’s Portuguese roots, serving natural, plant-based, organic and gluten-free food that not only looks amazing but is good for you, made with love and bursting with colour and flavour.

Dan and Port are unique in the fact that there are no set menus.

The menu is created on the day depending on the seasonal produce and organic options on offer.

Offering breakfast, lunch and dinner, the aim is to deliver natural foods, and each dish offers a minimum of 20 different plants per meal.

Who says healthy eating has to be boring?

Dishes may include salad bowls, soups, sharing platters, earth bowls, natural desserts, cocktails and more; each item is fresh, creatively made, and full of flavour.

Sustainability and being kind to the environment are top of their list, with a no-waste philosophy and making mindful choices in their cooking techniques.

As well as promoting the health benefits of plant-based living.

A great feature is the Osmosis water system; it helps to remove lead, sulphates and chlorides, offering customers refreshing, clean water to accompany their meals.

The staff are very friendly and serve you with a smile and a chat about the food if needed.
