The Barn Cafe is situated in a beautiful red-bricked courtyard in Bere Farm in Lychett Matravers.

With beautiful inside dining to the fabulous courtyard complete with large parasols, ample dining space and the quiet of the countryside, the cafe offers a serene escape.

Not only do you get to enjoy the cafe but if you like, you can dine in the large teepee, adding a sense of fun and a rustic charm to your dining experience.

Perfect on a day when the weather isn’t so good, you can cosy up and enjoy your meal in the tent.

If you’re looking for your next place to enjoy breakfast or lunch with the family, then The Barn Cafe is highly recommended.

The inside of the teepee is spacious and has lots of space for diners to enjoy their meals; the fairy lights create a warm feel, creating a calm and friendly atmosphere.

💡 Good to know: Dogs are allowed in the teepee and outside area but not in the main restaurant.

The inside of the cafe has an eclectic and warm feel, with comfy seating and lots of space to enjoy your food.

The cafe sells local produce from Dorset located by the doors, giving you the opportunity to enjoy the products at home.

The Barn Cafe prides itself on using fresh, locally sourced ingredients and serving delicious and flavoursome food to all its customers.

Visitors can enjoy a wide range of breakfasts with large, hearty portions to fill them up for the day ahead.

The menu includes the likes of full English, warm buttery croissants, smashed avocado on toast, eggs benedict and more.

There’s lots to offer on the lunch menu also, from large salad bowls, sandwiches, wraps, paninis, omelettes and so on.

The salads are amazing, not sparing on the ingredients. A nice added touch is the strawberries in the salad giving a natural sweet taste.

There is also a gluten-free menu available.

Not forgetting the wide range of sweet treats on offer for when you need a little something sweet after lunch.

There’s a wide range of hot and cold drinks, wine and alcoholic beverages on offer.

As well as the delicious food and great atmosphere, The Barn Cafe offers a fantastic afternoon tea, perfect for a special occasion or just as a treat.

Enjoy sandwiches, brioche buns and smoked salmon tartlets washed down with tea or prosecco.

Devour warm scones covered in cream and jam, brownies, Victoria sponges and more all in the cool surroundings of the cafe.

The staff are very attentive and friendly and are on hand for anything you need to know or want.

If you want to sit in a picturesque courtyard, cosy up in a teepee or want a cool restaurant vibe, then The Barn Cafe has you covered.

If you want to really make an afternoon of it, then you can enjoy the other independently owned businesses in the courtyard, which include The Piggery Garden Centre, The White Pepper Cooking School, Barefoot & Bo Bohemian Fashion Boutique and Griggs Crafts.

Thank you so much for your beautiful recommendations to visit in Dorset. We’ve visited some, but always eager to find more…. please could I ask you to list the disabled facilities a bit more? Ie accessibil pathways, level access in a wheelchair into café and disability toilets. That would be so helpful. Thank you.
