There’s something special about visiting farm shops.

The great produce on offer, paired with breathtaking countryside surroundings and friendly staff, add something personal to the shopping experience that you won’t get in big supermarket chains.

Buying fresh and local produce is one of the best things you can do. You help the environment whilst supporting a small business, and by buying fresh, you’re sure to enjoy more flavour from the food.

Bridport is home to an excellent spot. Here, you’ll find quality produce, an excellent roast dinner and even a safe space for your dog to play.

Here’s what to look forward to when visiting The Wagon House.

Google Reviews / James Lear

This small dairy farm has been a family business for over 100 years, originating in 1923.

However, for the past few years, it has opened its doors to the public, offering its own freshly produced and pasteurised milk via a vending machine.

The Wagon House

The benefits of these machines are endless, from the pretty reusable glass bottles to the fresh tastes and the fast and easy access you have to local produce.

The Wagon House

You can purchase the milk by using the honesty box or using a bank transfer, although the honesty box adds a sense of nostalgia and quaintness that you don’t see very much today and is a nicer way to pay.

Google Reviews /  Olivia

From starting with the vending machine, the business grew into a small yet handy farm shop selling fresh produce such as cheese, bread, butter and eggs.

As well as a large display fridge offering meats, bottled milk and the best milkshakes around.

Visitors remark how creamy and full of flavour the milkshakes are, often wanting to go back for more.

The Wagon House

What makes The Wagon House stand out from the crowd is enjoying a hearty roast dinner that is available from the takeaway kiosk on a Sunday.

Offering up beef or pork, excellent roast potatoes, vegetables, stuffing, fluffy Yorkshire pudding and gravy.

Keeping British tradition alive, indulging in a traditional roast on a Sunday whilst not having to cook everything yourself or wash up.

Note: There is free WiFi and an option for card payments at the weekend

The Wagon House

You can admire the countryside view whilst digging into your fresh, homemade food and enjoying the peaceful atmosphere.

Other items on the takeaway menu are jacket potatoes, hot sausage rolls and pasties, breakfasts and a selection of hot/ cold drinks.

The Wagon House

Whilst enjoying your takeaway food you can visit the enclosed dog field.

Available to hire all to yourself or share with your dog’s best friends.

Here, they can run wild, enjoying the fresh country air (and possibly begging you to share your roast dinner!)
