Hidden away in The Avenue shopping centre in Bournemouth, you will discover The South Coast Makers Market.

A fantastic hidden gem for someone who loves wandering around markets full to the brim with over 50 unique, independent stalls.

Each stall is stocked with handmade crafts, vintage and retro finds, art prints, gifts and more!

The market can be found on the first floor, above HMV. The large space is wall to wall with different tables and areas with individual shops.

If you’re looking to treat yourself, buy a gift or just going to check it out then you are guaranteed to enjoy the things on offer.

There’s so many different stalls and areas to look at. From Croc charms, clothes that aren’t in the usual highstreet shops and bags made from inflatables!

If you’re ‘old’ and want a blast from the past, there’s also a section that sells videotapes. It’s fun exploring all that’s on offer, especially when it brings back memories.

There are also workshops available for you to try out, such as copper wire jewellery making, felt heart sewing, and collage making.

Spending an afternoon quietly crafting is a great act of self-care; forgetting everything and learning a new skill is perfect for crafty people.

Not only is there a shop floor for the market but you can also visit the market on day, and night events that are organised in advance in different locations.

The night events feature DJs and alcohol, making the experience a fun, different night out.

You can also find The South Coast Makers Market at Camp Bestival, a fun family orientated festival which is held every year in Lulworth.

There’s a really cool shop called The Covern!

The Covern is everything witchy. From crystals, candles, soaps, oils, cards, gifts and more.

With a gorgeous aesthetic, its like something out of Practical Magic and worth visiting.

You’ll find it hard not to want to cast a few spells.

You will also come across Spill The Beans coffee shop, selling Bad Hand coffee, vegan food and sweet treats.

There is also an under 5’s play area. If you’re local you can arrange a play date and enjoy a cup of coffee and cake whilst the children play.

The South Coast Makers Market is open every day 11am – 5pm (4pm on Sundays)

There is a lift available, and dogs are welcome.

An underrated place to visit and explore. The South Coast Makers Market is a great addition to Bournemouth. You can spend a considerable length of time exploring the market and enjoying the quirky, unique and beautiful items on offer.

Pop in and get your creative juices flowing by joining a workshop and having a good chat with the extremely friendly staff that are around to help.

Keep up to date with everything by visiting their website and have fun finding something new.

Thanks for visiting!
