Weymouth is a beautiful seaside town full of lots of fun and exciting activities and days out for the family to enjoy.

Whether you’re visiting for the day or on holiday, the town is bursting with attractions, historical sites and outdoor activities.

These spots are guaranteed to get the children off the iPads and outside learning something new with scavenger hunts and nature trails.

Grab a deck chair and take in the amazing views of Weymouth Beach, stroll along the gorgeous Georgian seafront or picnic in the stunning subtropical gardens; there’s something for everyone.

Nothe Fort

Nothe Fort is Weymouth’s number 1 heritage attraction.

There are lots to do for visitors, including wandering through a maze of underground tunnels, exploring a secret bunker, fun trials and interactive activities for children, plus 360-degree views of the stunning Jurassic Coast.

There are also lots of events that take place throughout the year, such as Halloween fun, easter egg trails, open-air theatre, themed weekends and even a silent disco.

North Fort was considered one of the spookiest places in the UK in 2007 and they offer ghost-hunting tours. There is an onsite cafe, and dogs are welcome.

Abbotsbury Swannery

Abbotsbury Swannery is a unique place to visit in Weymouth.

Classed as one of the best things to do in Dorset, you can see the spectacular sight of the swans and fluffy baby cygnets whilst you take a walk through the hundreds of beautiful birds.

The swannery is spread over 25 acres and is a perfect spot for a day out. There are lots to do for children, including the Brambley Hedge story trail, which includes an activity booklet and stamp points, and the brilliant swan maze.

The swannery opens from mid-March until the end of October. Book your tickets to see this amazing and unique sight.

Weymouth Harbour

Weymouth Harbour is a quaint and picturesque spot for everyone to enjoy: stroll along the waterfront, watch the colourful boats, admire the beautiful buildings and grab a spot of lunch from one of the many restaurants.

There’s something for everyone and many beautiful spots to sit and relax.

The harbour is also a well-known crabbing spot; grab a bucket and some bait and spend the afternoon catching sea creatures and have lots of fun for the family that is affordable but bound to make lots of happy memories.

SEA LIFE Weymouth

Sealife Weymouth is home to over 2,500 marine creatures. With lots of different sea life zones such as Fairy Penguin Island, otters, turtle sanctuary, night and day ocean display of a coral reef and more!

Sealife offers an educational, fun and hands on experience that children will love.

Don’t forget to check out the UK’s largest man-made rock pool and the endless amount of sea creatures to admire.

Set over 5 acres with three different food outlets and outside seating areas to enjoy Sealife Weymouth is a fantastic day full of fun.

Fantasy Island Fun Park

Fantasy Island Fun Park is Weymouth’s biggest fun park and has a wide range of activities and places to eat and drink.

The park features more than 13 attractions, including bumper cars, ghost trains, teacups, helter-skelter and more.

There are also indoor activities such as soft play and an arcade.

Lots of events are held here throughout the year, such as reggae weekends, fireworks nights and Santas grotto.

A great place for the family with a huge amount of fun on offer.

Sharky’s Fun Factory

Sharky’s Fun Factory in Weymouth is a top spot for families. This indoor play centre boasts a gigantic main play area and, for older children, a quasar zone with a purpose-built laser maze.

With lots of space for children to run wild and use up some of their endless energy, this is an excellent spot to visit.

In the summer months there is also a large outside area complete with a zipwire and football goals.

A large parasol covering picnic benches gives a perfect spot for some lunch.

Abbotsbury Subtropical Gardens

Sandworld

There are daily workshops held, and you can even create your own sand art bottle.

These masterpieces are made out of just sand and water, its mind blowing how detailed the sculptors are.

Bennetts Water Gardens

Sandsfoot Castle

Built on the orders of Henry VIII, this old artillery fort offers both history and stunning views.

Although going inside the ruins is off-limits due to safety reasons, you can enjoy gardens and sea views with a picnic.
