There’s nothing more breathtaking than looking up at an unpolluted night sky and seeing the vast amount of stars.

It’s something many people miss out on, but don’t worry; we’ve found a getaway that gives you the amazing night sky all from the comfort of a king-sized bed.

This shepherd’s hut, also known as The Astronomers Hut, has an extraordinary twist with a skylight on the roof offering views of shooting stars and galaxies far away.

Dorset Forest Garden Glamping is a glamping site offering unique and quirky accommodations for a reasonable price with the feeling of being in luxury, set on 20 acres of private west Dorset land.

The owners wanted to offer visitors something that is effortless, beautiful and sustainable and I believe they achieved just that.

Airbnb

There are three huts on the site so you are in a quiet and relaxing space. Each hut has privacy, making you feel like you’re the only person enjoying the countryside views.

The Astronomers Hut is located in Dorset’s Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, close to The Jurassic Coast and Eggardon Iron Age Hill Fort.

Making it the perfect place for peace, beautiful views and lots of countryside to explore.

Airbnb

The hut itself is styled in an eclectic and cool style with dark colours and copper accents mixed with trinkets and homely touches.

Guests can lie in the luxurious bed and look up to the stars, making it the perfect place for a romantic getaway.

Being in the countryside, the view at night will blow you away; gazing at the sparkling sky and shooting stars will take all your worries away.

Airbnb

A great space saver is the pull-out table for two located under the bed; once you’re done, you can pop it back in and move around the hut more freely.

The table is a great place to sit, talk and eat; however, if you fancy eating it, there is a dining area outside to enjoy also.

Airbnb

With lots of windows letting in natural light, the hut is a relaxing and calming space. If you’re visiting during the cooler months, there is a wood burner for you to use to make the hut extra warm and cosy.

The kitchen area is equipped with everything you need for a short break, such as a sink, induction hob, kettle, toaster and fridge. What’s more, there is a BBQ outside for guests to enjoy.

Airbnb

The furnishings and colours in this hut draw you in and set the scene for a romantic and cosy getaway for two.

There is a two-night minimum stay, so there is plenty of time for you to unwind and relax fully.

There are games and books available for guests to use during your stay providing fun entertainment and getting everyone off their phones.

Airbnb

The ensuite bathroom comes equipped with a flushing toilet, a hot shower and a wash basin. Bath towels and homemade soap are also provided.

Airbnb

One of the best features of this hut is the hot tub. Suitable for two and in a private spot, ready to enjoy under the stars with a glass of bubbly.

Imagine being in the tub surrounded by nature and the amazing view!

Hampers are available to order from the host at an additional cost, it’s a great add-on to enhance your stay.

Choose from the likes of the breakfast hamper, meat feast BBQ hamper, a bouquet of flowers, cocktail and chocolates and more.

Airbnb

With lots of outside space, this makes for the perfect getaway for anyone who enjoys eco-friendly and special places to stay.

From the sun loungers or the hammock, you can spot the local wildlife, such as buzzards, barn owls and pheasants, read a book and chill or just sunbathe in peace.

Airbnb

There are lots of activities and things to do around the area of Beaminster, and it is especially great for guests who enjoy walks and cycling.

If that’s not your thing and you prefer something a bit more relaxing then there are many pubs and eateries to explore close by.

This shepherd’s hut has a unique and amazing twist with the skylight, making it an extraordinary place for a short break away. We can’t wait to get booked in!
