Christchurch is a quaint Saxon town on the border of Dorset and Hampshire; its beauty is unmatched with its pretty quayside, white sandy beaches and historical buildings.

Nestled on Christchurch high street and standing out from the crowd is the beautiful restaurant MAW.

Famous for their delicious pancakes and warm, friendly service. Run by the MAW sisters, this award-winning bistro is not one to miss when visiting Christchurch.

Here’s what to expect at MAW.

When you enter MAW, you’re immediately welcomed with a warm smile and a hello from the owners, Libby and Charlotte.

The restaurant interior is stylish, bright and fun providing a relaxed and happy atmosphere.

When seated, you’ll notice how many locals enter the restaurant and have great relationships with the ladies.

Everyone is greeted and pops in for a chat and a catch-up, making this a great spot for the local community and showing what a friendly space MAW is.

🍳 Good to Know: MAW offers half-price breakfast before 10am. Choose between a full English, full veggie breakfast and Plain Jane pancakes with a drink. Monday – Friday only.

Diners can eat down stairs surrounded by flowers, cosy cushions and chilled music playing.

Upstairs, a beautiful coffee and cocktail lounge is bursting with colour and is a warm, clean space to relax with friends and family.

The menus consist of a breakfast, all-day brunch, lunch and tapas menu offering some of the best quality and well made food.

MAW is well known for its excellent breakfasts.

An English breakfast is a beloved culinary tradition and one that many people enjoy daily.

It can often be hard to find a really good breakfast, but not anymore!

MAW excels in pancakes, offering customers big fluffy pancakes served with tasty toppings and the perfect mix of sweet and savoury.

Diners can choose from traditional ‘Plain Jane’, American buttermilk pancakes served with squirty cream & Irish butter, with the option to add strawberries, banana, maple syrup, and crispy bacon bits.

Others on offer are Biscoff ‘Scoff The Lot’ and ‘Crispy Chicken Pancakes.’

🥞 Good to Know: ‘Pancake Thursdays’ is a special offer of Buy One Get One Free on Plain Jane pancakes available every Thursday.

The full English breakfast is made with good quality ingredients and is bursting with flavour.

Crispy hashbrowns and bacon, a good quality sausage and perfect poached egg are prime examples of why MAW is so popular.

The portions are the right amount and leave you feeling very happy and satisfied.

As well as coming to dine at MAW, customers can book afternoon tea, bottomless brunch and even hire out the venue for private functions such as birthdays, baby showers, Christmas parties and more.

🌸 The flower wall is the perfect spot to take photos for Instagram.

Special events are also held at MAW, which are unique and fun activities to enjoy with loved ones. Pumpkin paint and sip, Halloween Harry Potter quiz and pasta, pizza and wine night are just some examples of the events that customers can have fun doing.
