Stepping into the courtyard by the Town Mill in Lyme Regis, you’ll notice the cool and relaxed atmosphere.

On a warm summer’s day, the courtyard is alive with groups of people enjoying the sun and a locally made beer.

The Lyme Regis Brewery offers creatively crafted beers and ales.

The Battery Room is a thriving microbrewery in the middle of town where you can enjoy a cold beer fresh from the Lyme Regis Brewery.

Founded in 2010 and back then known as The Town Mill Brewery. The guys behind the enterprise wanted to create an award-winning cask ale.

The brewery was located in the Malthouse (now the Battery Room) but soon moved on to bigger premises for larger production.

In 2014, the business was rebranded as The Lyme Regis Brewery, and shortly after that, in 2018 was taken over by four mates: Wes, Adam, Elliott and Dan.

They’re passionate about providing unique craft beers, using locally sourced ingredients that represent the Jurrasic Coast and Lyme Regis.

On entering The Battery Room, exposed wood and cool upcycled barrel seating give the place a rustic and welcoming vibe.

It’s a place to try the beers, purchase your favourites and relax in the beautiful courtyard.

Seating is also available upstairs on the mezzanine offering a cosy spot during bad weather days.

The brews are creatively named after places and areas that are local to Lyme Regis, such as Lyme Gold, Dorset Pearl, Golden Cap and the Cobb.

Guest beers, local artisan ciders, cocktails, wine and own-house spirits are also available.

The courtyard is tucked away from the busy high street and offers a small retreat whilst visiting Lyme Regis.

You can enjoy a cold beer whilst sitting back, people watching and spending time with loved ones.

The area is a creative hub with pottery studios, handmade jewellery shops and an art gallery.

The Town Mill is also an interesting spot to explore and learn about the history of the mill.

During the summer months, live music is played in the courtyard, adding to the happy mood of the area.

The Battery Room is a lovely spot with a fun vibe, friendly staff and lots of delicious drinks to enjoy.

If you want to take a souvenir home with you, then Lyme Regis Brewery merch is available to purchase, along with a selection of beers and glasses.
