1. Blagdon Fruit Farm
Blagdon Fruit Farm in Weymouth is a lovely spot for picking your own fruit. The season kicks off in June with strawberries, rhubarb, broad beans, and radishes.
Throughout the year, you can expect raspberries, peas, tomatoes, courgettes, pears and more.
No need to worry if the great British weather hasn’t kicked in yet; the farm has tunnels for you to go inside and fruit pick under shelter.

Blagdon operates on a cash-only basis; there is no entry fee, but they ask visitors to pay for all the fruit they pick.

2. Trehane Blueberry PYO
Trehane Blueberry PYO is a family favourite for picking organic blueberries. The farm opens its fields from 12th July to 23rd August.
Visitors can pick fresh blueberries daily from 10am to 4pm.
No pre-booking is required this year. Just turn up with your containers or use the provided cardboard punnets.
There is a 1kg minimum pick per group.
Try out The Flower Barn cafe, which is open all year round. Flowers are sold for all occasions or can be purchased with your coffee. The flowers are fresh and cut from the flower field onsite.
Visit Trehane for fresh, organic blueberries, coffee, cake and flowers for a fun day out.

3. Lenctenbury Farm
Lenctenbury Farm, located in Wareham, offers a delightful variety of fruits for visitors to pick. They focus on high-quality produce and ensure the best fruit-picking experience.
Strawberries are in season from early June to the end of August, and the peak time for strawberries is June and July, making this the perfect period to visit for the juiciest picks.
Blueberries are one of the main attractions, with the season running from early July to the end of August. These blueberries are carefully grown and also available in Marks & Spencer’s shops.
As well as the fruit mentioned, other fruit is available seasonally, such as blackcurrants, raspberries, redcurrants, gooseberries and white currants.

4. Forde Abbey Fruit Farm
On the Dorset and Somerset border, you’ll find Forde Abbey Fruit Farm. It is a delightful place to pick-your-own fruit this summer.
It is located near Forde Abbey House and Gardens.
They grow a variety of fruits. This includes strawberries, raspberries, gooseberries, blackcurrants, and redcurrants.
There is no entry fee to visit the fruit farm.

5. Puddletown Blueberries
Puddletown Blueberries offers a delightful pick-your-own experience. Their award-winning blueberries are known for being fresh, local, and delicious.
The farm opens for picking from mid-July to late September. Bring your own reusable containers, or use the ones provided; cash and card payments are accepted.
Here, you can pick buckets of blueberries from the abundance on offer in a scenic and peaceful part of Dorset.

6. Sopley Farm Shop
Sopley Farm on the edge of The New Forest offers a variety of fruit and vegetables to pick yourself.
They grow nearly 20 different types, including strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, tayberries, and gooseberries.
There’s no need to worry if you don’t want to pick yourself. The farm shop stocks ready-picked produce, such as asparagus, courgettes, marrows, potatoes, garlic, sweetcorn, and more.
Sopley Farm also has a bakery, selling delicious savoury and sweet treats, all homemade and can be enjoyed outside at the picnic tables.
Also home to a sunflower patch, an impressive and beautiful sight when visiting.
With lovely fresh produce in the summer and a ‘spooky’ pumpkin field in the autumn, this is a good all-rounder when it comes to picking your own.

7. Abbey Farm Flowers
Abbey Farm Flowers in Abbotsbury is a stunning pick-your-own flower farm. Set amongst medieval abbey ruins and with riverside views it offers a picturesque setting for cutting your bouquet.
The farm focuses on growing seasonal flowers, ensuring a constantly changing variety. They don’t use polytunnels or heavy equipment, which helps preserve the historic land.
The no-dig method used by Abbey Farm respects both the soil and historical features. This approach produces fertile growing beds, perfect for their beautiful flowers.
Pick Your Own is from mid-March until late October.
Visitors can pick their flowers, buy cut flowers, and enjoy local gifts and refreshments.

8. Sunflowers at Blandford
Sunflowers at Blandford is a great spot for families to enjoy nature. The location offers a one-acre sunflower trail where visitors can walk and pick their own bright, beautiful sunflowers.
Visitors can also purchase drinks and ice creams, perfect refreshements after sunflower picking.

9. Gullivers Farm Shop
At Gullivers Farm Shop, visitors can enjoy an annual pick-your-own Sunflowers event from early to late August.
The event offers a delightful chance to pick sunflowers directly from their fields. Additionally, children can participate in fun craft activities, and everyone can explore a nature trail.
In October, Gullivers Farm Shop hosts a pick-your-own Pumpkin event. Starting mid-October, families can choose pumpkins right from the field.
Craft activities and a nature trail add to the fun. On select weekends, the Pumpkin Fest includes extra activities and celebrations, making it a perfect autumn outing.

10. Bincombe Bumps
Bincombe Bumps is a charming spot in Dorset for a great pick-your-own experience. It’s especially fun during the autumn, with pumpkin picking becoming a favourite activity.
The farm is dog-friendly and welcomes visitors to spend a day out enjoying the festive vibes. October weekends and the week leading up to Halloween are packed with activities.

11. Ella’s Flower Farm
Ella’s Flower Farm is a charming spot that started in 2023.
After working at Gold Hill Organic vegetable farm, Ella transitioned to growing flowers with encouragement from her mentors. She discovered an old walled garden and transformed it into a thriving flower farm with the help of her parents.
The farm uses no-dig methods and avoids chemicals, focusing on sustainable practices.
Ella aims to create a healthy and diverse environment, working closely with nature.
Ella’s Flower Farm plans to offer pick-your-own flowers in the future, along with workshops.
For now, she sells her blooms wholesale to florists and also offers DIY buckets.
