If you’re looking for a festive evening out that feels warm, cheerful and full of gentle surprises, the Christmas Lights and Reindeer Experience at Nutley Farm in Winfrith Heath is a lovely choice. The farm turns into a bright, colourful world of lights, food and friendly reindeer.
The event runs from 28 November to 30 December 2025, and it’s all in support of the Dorset & Somerset Air Ambulance, which makes your evening feel even more special.
To start with, the event looks incredible as soon as you arrive. The glow from the barns, the sparkle across the fields and the colours in the trees instantly put you in the mood for a winter walk.
Take a look at this scene from the main event area:

The trail winds through farmland and woodland, and each section has its own surprise. Some areas feel soft and magical, with gentle music and colours wrapping around the trees.
Others feel bold and bright, with tunnels, arches and glowing animal shapes catching your eye as you walk.

The best thing is that Nutley Farm adds new features every year, so even if you’ve been before, you’ll still find something different.
For 2025, they’ve added more interactive spots and a lovely mix of colours that work beautifully against the night sky.
Halfway round, families can visit the Reindeer Barn.
Their four reindeer, Rudolph, Prancer, Sprout and Parsnip live here all year, and they’re calm and used to seeing visitors.
You can buy a small pot of feed if you’d like to try your luck with a snack. One of them usually wanders over, which always brings big smiles.

After the barn, head towards the brand-new Christmas Courtyard. It’s one of the highlights this year, with wooden structures, twinkling lights and a giant LED Christmas tree.
It has that cosy feel where everyone chats, warms their hands and enjoys something tasty.

Food is a big part of the fun here. There are warm Nutley sausages, pork burgers, chips with all sorts of toppings, plus vegan and gluten-free choices.
You’ll also find plenty of hot and cold drinks, including mulled wine and cider for the grown-ups. If you have a sweet tooth, the crepes and waffles are worth the wait in the queue.
How good does this look?

Take your deluxe hot chocolate drink or treat outside and find a spot by the fire pits. Toasting marshmallows in the cold evening air always feels like a little tradition, and it’s a favourite for children.

Depending on the night you book, you may also get live music in the festive barn.
Local singers perform on selected evenings, and if you’ve booked a 7 pm or 7:30 pm trail slot, you can stay on afterwards to enjoy the performance.
It’s a lovely way to end the visit.

💡 Tip: Tickets sell out quickly, especially weekends and music nights, so it’s worth booking early.
Nutley Farm’s trail is accessible for pushchairs and wheelchairs, and there’s even an SEN-friendly night with reduced sound and slower lighting.
It’s clear how much care has gone into making the event welcoming for different families.
If you’re planning a December treat, Nutley Farm is a great option for an evening walk, tasty food and relaxed family time.
It’s easy to reach at Winfrith Heath, and you can find all booking details on the Nutley Events website.
