If you’re looking for a cheap Christmas activity that is sure to get you in the festive spirit, then a trip to this road in Poole is a must.

A quiet cul-de-sac located near Branksome provides the perfect Christmas scene.

The whole road offers free entertainment of Christmas lights, festive music, and a place for the whole family to come together.

Move over expensive markets and Santa’s Grotto; Runton Road provides everything you need for yuletide fun.

The residents have kept up this tradition for over 30 years, and each year, the displays become bigger and better.

As you take a stroll around, festive music and Christmas carols can be heard whilst families enjoy the beautiful displays.

Although this is a free activity and can be enjoyed by everyone, there is an option to donate to charity.

Many of the houses provide collection boxes for charities such as RNLI and Julia’s House, and tens of thousands of pounds have been donated in the past.

Just simply drop some cash into the collection boxes or scan QR codes to donate.

As you look around the houses, you’ll notice some fantastic setups. From a hologram of Santa waving from a window, fake snow dancing through the air and huge snowmen and Santa displays.

The lights turn on around 4-5pm and turn off at 10pm, giving you lots of time to explore and enjoy the Christmas cheer.

You’re guaranteed to get into the Christmas spirit after visiting here.

The road can get very busy, and it’s important to be respectful to the residents, so it is advised to park in the surrounding area and walk up to the road unless unable to do so.

There is plenty of parking in the area, and the walk is a pleasant one as you start to spot the Christmas lights as you get closer.

Dogs are welcome also, but they must be on a lead.

The atmosphere along Runton Road goes unmatched at this time of year. The sense of community provides a positive and friendly vibe as you spot families coming together and little ones getting excited for Christmas.

🎄 The lights for 2025 light up on Saturday 13th December. Have fun!
