Careys Secret Garden had been untouched for 40 years; it was left overgrown with brambles and long grass and was barely accessible.
The garden would have once been a recreational space filled with beautiful plants and flowers, fruits and vegetables.
The owner’s son, Simon Constantine, decided to restore the garden to its former glory.
When you enter the gardens, you will immediately feel a sense of calm rush over you.
The gardens are a little haven hidden from the outside world. Nothing but birdsong can be heard, and there is something beautiful to look at no matter where you look.
The gardens are very much still a work in progress, but regardless, the space is amazing.
There are gardeners dotted around the areas that are extremely friendly and up for a chat. They’re busy working to provide a beautiful space for everyone to see.
Careys Secret Garden is also child-friendly, providing small play areas and a mud kitchen; children won’t be able to resist making some mud cake and watering the small herb garden in the area.
The Secret Garden also runs a series of workshops and events such as Parent and toddler stay-and-play, yoga classes, bird-watching and workshops to get your creative juices flowing.
You can also enjoy a delicious vegetarian treat or a cup of coffee from the onsite cafe, The Secret Pig. Part of the Salt Pig restaurant, well known for their amazing food, offering you delicious light bites and refreshments.
