If you’re looking for a day out that is packed full of fun for all the family and guaranteed to put smiles on everyone’s faces, then the Day Retreat package at Knoll House is a must.
We spent the day at the hotel, and it did not disappoint. A beautiful building with spectacular views of The Purbecks, lots of facilities to enjoy and a delicious lunch.
Here’s what to expect with The Knoll House Day Package.
Knoll House, situated in Studland, is a traditional Dorset hotel. The charming and vintage style of the hotel almost makes you feel like you’ve stepped back in time or are visiting the set of Dirty Dancing.
The hotel was established in 1931 and has been a firm favourite for many returning guests.
Throughout our day there, we spoke to numerous people who had been coming to Knoll House for many years.
💡 Enid Blyton was a regular visitor to the hotel in the ’50s and ’60s One of the most successful children’s authors of the 20th century, her imagination gave us The Famous Five, The Magic Faraway Tree and the Noddy series. Many of the places in her books were inspired by Dorset.
The Day Retreat package is bursting with things to do for couples, families, and everything in between. Dogs are welcome also.
With The Jurassic Coast right on the doorstep, views of Old Harry Rocks, and The Purbeck hills, it’s the ideal location to relax in a beautiful countryside setting and offers a calmer experience than busy beaches.
The pool is heated and feels like a warm bath; there’s no easing in slowly; you can just jump right in.
A smaller paddling pool is also next to the big pool.
The Day Package includes the use of the inside and outside heated pools, a sauna, a steam room and a jacuzzi.
A hut situated next to the pool sells ice cream and hot and cold drinks. The perfect accompaniment for lounging around the poolside.
Sun loungers, benches and chairs are available, and towels are provided for the day.
Also included in the package was the use of the games room. The children loved spending time in here, playing ping pong and ice hockey.
The views from this room are amazing. Also, a smaller playroom for little ones is located here.
A play park located out the back of the hotel was the perfect place for the children to let loose and use their imaginations.
A cinema room is a great spot to chill out after being in the pool. Choose from a collection of DVDs, or connect your phone to the big screen, then sit back and relax.
Located across the road from the hotel is a golf course and tennis courts. The Day Package includes the use of these, and you can collect clubs and balls from the reception.
Our family loved playing here, and the views are breathtaking. On a warm summer day you can see boats bobbing along the water and great views of Old Harry Rocks.
The Day Package includes a delicious seasonal lunch.
The menu offered a variety of options, ensuring that even fussy eaters could find something they enjoy. Vegetarian and vegan options were also available.
You can choose to sit inside or outside; the dining room was set up in a beautiful way, making mealtimes a special occasion.
The outdoor dining area, with its views, pretty flowers, and trees, is a lovely spot for alfresco dining.
Knoll House is a beautiful place; if you’ve ever been to Studland, you may have often driven past and wondered what it must be like to visit such a grand building.
The Day Package gives you an opportunity to use the facilities, relax in luxury and enjoy a delicious meal.
This is a real gem in The Purbecks that gives the feeling that you’ve arrived on holiday somewhere; although there for the day, it felt like we’d had a relaxing break away from home.
The children didn’t want to leave… and neither did we!
