Sculpture by the Lakes has been described as one of the most beautiful and unique settings in the UK and provides lots of opportunities to sit, relax and explore the sculpture park.
Unfortunately, due to safety reasons, children and babies under 14 are not allowed in the park. However, this also creates a quieter atmosphere and gives adults a place to unwind without other distractions.
The park is not one to be rushed with its endless beauty, and seating can be found throughout, often among beautiful backdrops to give you a chance to truly take the whole visit in.
Lakes, streams and over 1000 trees and shrubs provide the perfect setting for a full day of peace and tranquillity whilst enjoying the breathtaking artwork living among the natural world.
Swans and ducks are often swimming along the river, adding to the beauty.
Whether you’re going to relax, take photos, draw or wander around, there’s an endless amount of charm within the park, which is ever-changing with the seasons.
The botanical gardens are one of eight in the UK and are designated ‘safe sites’, meaning they are responsible for conserving rare species of plants and trees from around the world.

🐕🦺 Well-behaved dogs on a lead are welcome to the sculpture park and Makers Yard. Other areas, such as the Ornamental Gardens, The Store and The Gallery, are off limits.
